2005 is winding down....

It is really hard to believe how much our lives have changed this year. I remember reading everyday what stage of growth the baby was in...I remember dreaming of what he would be like...what would he look like? Would he be healthy? We waited and waited, and dreamed and prayed a lot. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this beautiful gift we have been given. The moment he came into the world was a feeling that no words can describe...and here we are, Tyler's first Christmas. It is amazing watching him grow and change everyday. Being a witness to all his "firsts" first smile, first laugh, first teeth, sitting up, getting ready to crawl, standing....all in 6 months. What an incredible little person. I went from wanting time to speed up so that I could meet my little sweetheart, to wanting it to slow down because he is growing so fast. What a beautiful life he is. When he smiles, you seem to forget all your troubles and worries. So as 2005 ends, I feel lucky and blessed. I pray that Tyler's future is everything and more that he could ever dream. I want to do everything in my power to give him everything he needs to be a successful, happy and healthy person. I want him to be confident. I want him to feel comfort and I want him to always know how loved he is.

Love,
Tyler's Mommy

Happy New Year!

Tyler's FIRST Christmas, and other stuff...

Merry Christmas!!! Tyler had a WONDERFUL 1st Christmas. Christmas Eve we exchanged presents with his Grandma, Poppy, Auntie Alexis, Uncle Jordo and Aunt Megs...They spoiled our little man. Then we went to Uncle Dick's and Aunt Adrienne's and Ty met his cousins. Everyone was sick there, so we didn't stay long. When we got home, Tyler's daddy read him "The Night Before Christmas" and Tyler was really into it. He helped his Daddy turn the pages and even tried to read a bit himself. Then it was time for our little sleepyhead to go to bed so Santa could come visit. Tyler had been a very good boy! Then, Christmas morning, Tyler woke up with the cutest smiles...and really big smiles when we would ask him if Santa came. We went downstairs and there was lots of toys under the tree. Ty was amazed by everything. He sat and played and played for the longest time. He loved everything. It is so cute to watch him concentrate and try to figure things out. We then got ready and went to Grandma and Poppy's and everyone came over. Tyler especially liked seeing his Pop-Pop Minnicks. Tyler was loving all the hugs and kisses he got from all his Aunts, Uncles and everyone.

Tyler is growing so fast, it is unreal! Our little cutie is sporting 12 month old clothes! He is gonna be tall! He is getting ready to start crawling. He gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. So cute. He has been sitting up for a long time, and also rolling all over the place. He also likes to stand on his own holding on to something. I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!!!

Look for more pictures coming soon!!!

Love to all! Happy New Year!!!

"Want some peaches?"

So Tyler has disovered that certain words are funny. Yesterday I was feeding him peaches and I said "You want some peaches" in my silly Mommy voice, he started cracking up, and every time I said it to him, he would scream with laughter...full on belly laughs. I LOVE IT! It's like music to my ears. There is nothing like it in the world. He is really amazing.

Well, he is gonna be 6 months old tomorrow!!! ALREADY! I blinked, and he is half a year old. We had his Dr. appt today. He met the new Dr. , Dr. Aguto retired :( He was my pedi too... The new Doc is a lady and she was real sweet. She has a 2 month old! Tyler was a trooper. He got his shots and he didn't like it that much. He is 27 1/2 inches and 20 pounds!!! I think he is gonna be tall like Tim's family. His nephews tower over Tim (.~)

Tyler is doing really well with his baby food. So far so good. We have been giving him practice with his sippy cup. He is so funny. He holds it and tried to figure out how to get it into his mouth. It is so cool to watch him learn things on his own.

I will try to check in more often, Tyler keeps me busy as you can imagine...heehee

Love to all!

Tyler has his SECOND tooth

Yeeeup, Ty has another tooth coming in next to the other one that is almost completely in. They are on the bottom, right in the front. Poor little guy, I bet they bug him, but he is a trooper and doesn't cry or complain or anything and has been sleeping through the night. Next Tuesday he has his 6 month appointment and at that time I think we begin feeding him stuff besides fruit. We can't wait.

The tree is up, the house is decorated and newly painted and we are gonna do a little Christmas shopping for our baby boy next week. We'll post picts of Christmas in a couple weeks (obviously.) I don't want to post what is on his Christmas list here because he might read it. ;)

Daddy T OUT and ready for the weekend...

Here's that tooth I was talking about...

So here is a picture of Tyler's first little tooth. Of course some time has passed and it is MUCH bigger now! He is so cute and loves his veggies. Unfortunately now we both have colds. Hopefully Can won't catch it, but its kinda inevitable I think. He's been a real trooper with his stuffy little runny nose. Anyway, enough random babbling. Here's that picture I promised...

Tyler has his FIRST TOOTH!!!

I'll post pictures later, but Tyler's first little tooth has broken through and is starting to come in. It's so cute, it's right in the front on the bottom and I almost cried when Candace showed me.

Our little boy is growing up so fast. He has been eating carrots and steak and mashed potatoes. Ok, just kidding about the steak and potatoes. But he LOVES his carrots. Candace and I have decided to make our own baby food and he loves his little steamed/pureed carrots.

Congrats to Craig and Lisa on the birth of their little baby girl!

5 Months OLD ALREADY!!!

Tyler is 5 months old today! Can you believe it! I was preggers last year this time. It is hard to imagine how fast time has flown. He has been eating his rice cereal so well! Today was the first day trying carrots. Tim and I are making his baby food for now. I bought some organic carrots and we steamed them, puree'd them and the first two spoonfuls he liked it, then he realized it was not his rice cereal and was spitting it out. It was so cute. We will try again tomorrow.

Christmas is right around the corner. My Mom bought his his first Christmas outfit. SOOO CUTE! I can't wait till he meets Santa!

Ty is getting so big. He is so sweet. His smile lights up the room. He says 'Mama'...not sure if it is on purpose, but my parents heard it, Tim, and I heard it too...like music to my ears! heehee He plays peek-a-boo all by himself too! At first I thought it was by accident, but he loves to pull the little blanket on his face, and pull it down when I say peek-a-boo...he smiles and laughs. SO cute!

Halloween was fun. Tyler ended up being the cutest bumblebee ever. I took Tyler to his pop-pop's and Aunt Debbie's house. They gave his toys instead of candy. It was so sweet. And then we went to my parents house (his other grandparents) and Auntie Alexis. We came home after that and stopped over to show our neighbor Donna his costume too. He had a busy day!

Oh well, this mommy is sleepy. Must get some rest while I can.

Love to all!

To hear...

my son laugh out loud at something silly that I've done is the most incredible feeling in the world. Tyler is really getting big. He can stand by himself when I hold his hands and is really inquisitive. He tries to figure out how to take the keys off of his exersaucer and gets so frustrated when he tries everything he can and still can't remove them. It's so cute to watch him figure things out and spin things and watch the action.

Life is no longer good.

Life is AWESOME!

Monkeys, Chili peppers, and Bumble Bees oh MY!!!

WOW! Can you believe it is over 4 months already that our little sweetheart has been in our lives. I cannot imagine my life without him. We had Tyler's 4 month appointment a week ago. He weighs 17 pounds, and is 26 1/3 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile
for both height and weight. Dr. Aguto said he is growing perfectly. He told us we could start rice cereal. Tyler is so cute when he eats. He is getting used to it. It is more for just practice now. Our little angel looks good in everything he eats. heehee We get to introduce fruits in 3 weeks. I am thinking of making my own baby food. I am looking for more information on it.

As you can tell, if you looked at the pictures Tyler had 3 Halloween costumes. heehee Well, it all started when I went into Old Navy on my Birthday and saw the CUTEST little Monkey costume. I always wanted a monkey and I call Ty my little Monkey...so it was perfect. heehee Then Tyler's Aunt Erin lent us Ty's cousins Ellie and Adam's chili pepper suit, so cute!...and last but not least, the bumble bee costume, could not resist! heehee We'd all be in trouble if I found an infant pirate costume, eh?! heehee I am out of control!

Tyler has been rolling over. He laughs a lot. He loves to talk...our little chatterbox. He plays with toys. He loves the megasauser. He loves dancing. He loves a cartoon on Tickle U, or mainly the song, "Yoko, Jakamoko, Toto"...As soon as the short cartoon is over, he is over it...but you put it back on again...He looks right at the TV. I don't want him watching too much TV though. He loves when I read to him, he laughs if I make silly voices. He loves a song that his daddy made up. So cute watching them together. He is really active and loves doing his daily exercises with Mommy. Ahhh...our hearts have been busy with all this love. We are so blessed.

Anyway...just thought I would update you! Please keep Lisa L. and Megan K. in your thoughts and prayers as they are both due very soon!!!! SOOOOO excited!!!

Hugs...

Lil Boxer...

So, Tyler has a new trick...I thought I would share! We play this little boxer game. He puts his little fists in the air real straight and I hold his little wrists and pretend to box with sound effects. He LOVES it...So I do it for a couple seconds and put his arms down...and they go right back up and he has this HUGE smile. It is soooo cute! I wish I could capture it on video. It is amazing to see him grow and learn everyday. He has this adorable little personality that comes out more and more. How in the world did we get soooo lucky!

And YUP...Ty is still sleeping through the night! Jeez we are lucky! He goes down around 9:30 and is up around 7! He has had a couple teething nights where he wakes up, but he soothes himself back to sleep by sucking on his thumb. So cute. Poor thing has had some painul teething moments. Those lil teeth are pushing. He is not fond of the paci...oh well, I never was either when I was a baby.
I can't believe Ty is almost 4 months old!!! October was the month I found out that I was preggers. WOW. Hard to believe it has been a year almost! I can't wait for the holidays and watching EVERYTHING through Tyler's eyes. How beautiful everything is once again. I have already been brainwas...I mean telling him all about Disney World!

Love to all! Thanks for the nice e-mails and comments on the guestbook about this website. Tim works real hard and we are so proud of our son. EEeeee! We are in love!

Tiny Dancer

VIDEO coming soon! UNBELIEVABLE! Tyler has rhythm! Alexis(my sis) and I were hanging with Tyler...I was putting on all the dance music on my iPod and dancing all around entertaining Ty...when I noticed HE was dancing WITH me! Alexis and I looked at each other like, 'Did you just see what I saw'...I called Tim right away and he came down. Tyler was jumping around in his exersaucer to the beat! Moving his shoulders, stomping his feet! I tried to capture it on my camera...he got a little camera shy, but you can see what I mean! Tyler loves him some Black Eyed Peas! heehee I was sooo excited I had to share!

Love to all!

Life is good

Life is SO good. Life is actually AMAZING. I love this little guy so much and I can't imagine my/our life without him. His little smile is enough to brighten the room and pick you up when you are in the worst mood. Candace brought the baby to my work yesterday and I walked him around and introduced him to everyone. It was so cool to go to lunch with them because it is so hard leaving every morning. I highly recommend having a baby if you EVER want to experience the best feeling in the world. It's at the point now where we put Ty down every night around 8:30-9:00pm and he doesn't wake up until 7-7:30am. Honestly we don't even remember the nights when he woke up every 2 hours because he is such an angel now. It's been probably 2-3 weeks since he has been sleeping through the night. I think the earliest he has woken up was 5:45am one morning but that was because he went to bed earlier than usual. I just smile and smile thinking about him and when I'm away from him I play his little video on the site so I can look at his smiling face when I miss him...

Yeah... life is good...

So THAT'S what 8 hours sleep feels like (cont'd...)

Yeppers, Tyler has slept 8-9 hours a night for the past 4 nights. Is this going to continue? Only time will tell, but WE HOPE! :)

Things are great in our lives, the baby has been good, Can had a great birthday, we spent the day at the fair and Can won $3.80 at the racetrack! WOOT! Then we hung out with her bro and future sis in law at our house. YEE YEE YEE!!

Today we visited Matthew and Melanie and little baby Isabella. She is adorable! Maybe Matt will do something with his website and put some picts up. If so we'll post a link.

That's about it for now, still working on the room pictures and some video of the baby, so stay tuned...

So THAT'S what 8 hours sleep feels like....

:)

Tyler slept thru the night last night. 8+ hours. Yeppers! Candace and I woke up and we were like "what the?" "is the baby ok?" and yep he was laying there sound asleep. Man, now I'm tired because I got TOO much sleep last night. ha ha.

Can just called me a little while ago and told me that the baby is mimic'ing (sp?) what she is doing. She smiles and he smiles, she frowns and he frowns, she makes a noise and he makes a noise. Pretty awesome.

I'll be posting picts of the baby's finished room in the next week or so. We took picts but they didn't turn out, so we gotta take more.

Happy Birthday Candace!!!

Ha ha ha ha...

Tyler laughed out LOUD today! Like full on laugh, not a gigle, but actual LAUGHING! This is a first and I can't wait to get home to see this miracle! WOOT!

More to come later. Just had to post that milestone.

I'm working on putting video on the site. Should be done in a week or so if time permits...

Tyler is 2 1/2 months old already!!!!!

WOW! Being a Mommy is a lot of work. Obviously Tim and I don't have as much time to blog...hopefully the sweet pictures make up for that. heehee Tyler is sleeping in his daddy's arms at the moment and it is such a sweet sight. My boys. :)

So much to say...well...here goes...

Tyler at his 2 month appointment weighs 13 lbs 5 oz and was 23 3/4 inches! That was 2 weeks ago! He is into size 2 diapers already! He is a good eater!

Ty just went on his 1st trip to OC. We went with my parents and sister and my Aunt Sandy came down for a day. His daddy stayed home and worked. Tyler was sooo good. He slept the whole time when we went to the boardwalk. He had his cool shades on. So many people stopped to say how cute he was. One little old lady at a restaurant told me that he was the kind of baby that people her age want to steal. It was cute, but I held him a little tighter. heehee He was really good, and of course was spoiled rotten by his Grandma and Auntie Alexis.

Well...here is what Tyler man has been up to...

He smiles all the time and giggles...if anything melts your heart...sigh! I am in love.

Ty does a mini pushup and rolls over one way. He is so cute cause he works so hard, and when he rolls he gets this cute little suprise face.

He is noticing things around him. It is neat to already explore the world through his eyes. (Can't wait till we can take him to Disney) He studies everything. Our black and white puppies, his toys, the ceiling fan...you name it. He saw himself in the mirror today and was all smiley. It was precious.

Tim and I are getting the hang of this parenting thing. It is really tough...much respect to our parents! It is so rewarding though. Words can't really express what it feels like. Tyler is sleeping longer at night, and he is such a pleasant baby. We really got lucky!

Congrats to Matt and Melanie on the birth of Isabella, Jim and Melissa on the birth of Luke, Lisa (Ashes from Shelly Coats) on her twins Mason and Jace, and Nancy and Mike (from The Things) on their new baby boy (I have not gotten the official word on his name yet...)

So many little new friends for Ty! Evan, Luke G., Luke I., Isabella, Talia, Kaylie, Nia, Mason, Jace, Nicholas, Baby Boy Krimm and Baby Girl Luntz coming soon...the baby fever list goes on!!! MWAH!

Thats all for now...thanks for signing the guestbook...I make sure to read the notes to Ty!

Love to all!

Everybody's gone surfin'....surfin USA...

Well not daddy T. Can and Tyler have gone to the beach for a couple days to get some rest and relaxation. She called me this morning and told me that Tyler lifted himself up with his hands and rolled over all by himself! WOOT! How strong is this little guy? Jeesh...

She was also pretty happy becuase she put him down to sleep last night at midnight and he actually slept until 5am. That's really good considering that it has been every 2-3 hours for the past 2+ months. We also started our boy on some medicine that the dr. prescribed for reflux at the beginning of the week and that may be helping as well.

Man I'm gonna miss those 3am feedings...

Checking in...

Life has been so crazy! Tyler is a sweetheart! I can't believe how lucky we are to have this little guy in our lives! He smiles more and more everyday, and gives up little giggles here and there. I LOVE it! He is growing so fast too. Clothes that used to fall off of him now don't even fit. He is almost 8 weeks old already!!! Remember when I was counting down days until he arrived?!?! He is 54 days old!!! heehee

We are getting ready for his Daddy's birthday!!!

Phew....

Who's a tired man? Timmay's a tired man! woot!

ha ha...

Yep, Can and I are loving parenthood and are some tired peeps. I've been up since 5 am because the little one decided he was hungry. So I brought him downstairs so Candace can sleep and he has been up the entire time until about 10 minutes ago when he sacked out on his little play mat. He loves sleeping on his tummy, too bad it isn't recommended thru the night because of SIDS. I bet he'd be sleeping thru the night if he was put to bed on his tummy. But oh well, he'll be sleeping on his back at night as long as we can keep him on it. He is almost rolling over and he has started doing pushups when I put him on my chest. He'll put his little hands on my chest and lift his head up and stare at me in the face. It is such a cool feeling to have this little guy around.

T-Dad out and gonna try and take a nap while he is. Of course as soon as i typed that he started squirming...he has a sixth sense about these sorts of things....ha ha...

Final baby room picts will be up this week!

Tyler is 6 weeks OLD! ALREADY!

Well, It is 12:30 am...I am taking the first feeding shift so Tim can get some rest. He is gonna get the 5am shift. We are some tired parents. heehee It is all worth it. The nurse at his Dr. appt. said that when they reach 10 pounds they should sleep through the night. Our Tyler got on the scale and he was the magic number...10 pounds...that was 2 weeks ago! heehee He weighs more than that now. We are reading " The Happiest Baby on the Block" now. Hopefully it helps. I guess it is too early to expect much. heehee Ty is still brand new.

I put him in his swing today and he gave me a HUGE smile! What an awesome feeling. I still can't believe he is really here. That I am a real Mom. He is amazing.

Love to all...

We got our hands full...

Literally :) Typing with one hand...

Tyler will be 6 weeks tomorrow! WOW! He LOVES his swing...he tries to find out where the music is coming from. It is so cute...just like his daddy. He is probably trying to find out where the sound is coming from so he can take it apart and make it better. heehee He has been smiling and reacting to me jumping around like a monkey, just so I can get another smile...sigh...he is so adorable...

Congrats to Melanie and Matt on their new baby girl Isabella!!! We can't wait to meet her!

Love to all!

Sleep, what is that? heehee

Well...I should be resting, cause Tyler is finally taking a nap. He has wanted to be cuddled and entertained all day. He is so precious, I can't resist. He woke up last night for a 3:30am feeding, and he just could not fall sound asleep. It is hard to believe how much our lives have changed. Tim and I watched some fireworks from our deck last night and really could not believe how different things were a year ago. Our baby was the band, practicing, writing songs, performing...Now we are singing songs, performing for, and loving and caring for our little boy.

He smiles at me everyday. REAL smiles...he must know I need them. God love our little angel!

Tyler will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!!!

back to work (cont'd)

I can type more now....

So yeah, I started back to work Monday and lemme tell you, it is pretty sucky to have to leave your wife and newborn at home. Not sucky in the sense that I hate my job or anything cause I don't. Actually it's pretty cool and the people are awesome. But sucky in the sense that I'd LOVE to be independently wealthy and be able to stay home and raise my son with my wife and share that with her. Maybe tonight I'll hit with the Mega Millions ticket I bought! ha ha.

I've been trying not to call home too much so Candace can get some rest because she has been taking the 4am feedings and letting me sleep which is pretty awesome of her.

We went to the dr. today and he said her incision looks good and he is gonna start weaning her off of her pain meds. I wish I could take some of her pain away from her cause I know it must be hard and the carpel tunnel isn't helping because she is having trouble even opening a jar with her left arm. Poor girl. I love you and I promise it is all down hill from here! It'll get better and you'll be 100% before you know it!!!

Love to you and Tyler!!!

well that 2.5 weeks went by fast. I really miss Can and Tyler.

I'll type more later...

Our boy is growing fast...

It is 12:16 in the morning...we are getting ready for bed. Hard to believe Tyler is 19 days old already!

Daddy goes back to work today. Tyler and I are sad...we are gonna miss him.

Tyler met his first friend Talia on Sat. We went for quick outing with our friends Dave, Theresa, Dave's daughter Linnea and their sweet newborn Talia. She is two weeks older that Tyler. Precious. Then today we went for another quick outing to his Uncle Pat and Aunt Erin's house for his cousin Adam's first birthday. Adam's sister and my 2 year old Godchild Ellie fell in love with her little cousin Tyler. She was so sweet to him. She calls her brother Adam Bop-bop, so she called Ty, little Bop-bop. It was, uuuhhh...so adorable! We couldn't stay too long...but it was another successful outing. Tyler is so good. We are so blessed.

Hopefully Tim puts new picture up soon. Ty has gotten so big and changes everyday.

Anyway...off to get my couple hours of sleep. :)

Love to all...

Our due date was today!

Today is the 24th of June. I feel sort of attached to this day. This was the day I based my countdown on. Tyler's official due date. Can you believe he is 16 days old already! I still have to pinch myself...I feel like I am dreaming. We have a sweet little son. He coos and makes the cutest little noises and little facial expressions. Everyone who sees his sweet little face falls in love. He is just amazing!

First tears... Yesterday Tim and I saw Tyler's first tears. It broke my heart. So what did Mommy do...well, I cried too. Poor little guy.

Well, we are off to bed now (for a couple hours anyway...heehee)

Thanks to everyone!

I will write more...esp. all the visitors Ty has had! Lots of love to share! Oh and more pictures coming soon!!!

Wow...

what an amazing two weeks already. They grow up so fast ::sigh::

:)

Tyler's belly button (umbilical cord) fell off and has left the perfect little belly button. He is SO adorable and Candace and I could just eat him up! When he lays there he makes these cute little "baby noises" little coo's and grunts and giggles and it is so cool. He can already turn over on his back from his belly which may or may not be normal and can already hold his head up and turn it, but I think he is so strong that he'll probably be walking in a couple weeks ;). Tomorrow I'm taking him out to teach him to ride a bike and we are gonna go rent some jetski's afterwards to cool off. Seriously though I can't wait for ALL that! We are so blessed and I'm so blessed to have an amazing and strong wife like Candace. I know she sometimes plays down everything she does, but she is amazing and we have got the perfect little boy.

Much love to everyone who has posted here. We appreciate you all!

Once upon a time....

Here is our story…we decided to write this one together…

Tim: Well we did it! Well, CANDACE did it! She is the strongest person I've ever met in my entire life. I have a new respect for her and women in general because this birthing thing is NOT easy. At our Dr. Appt Tuesday afternoon, the Dr. told us to go immediately to the hospital. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars. Go straight in. So after coming home and finalizing our labor bag, we drove into the hospital Tuesday night around 6pm. When we got there we were immediately taken to a room and Candace was given a softening agent to "ripen" her cervix so they could induce labor the next morning. Ya see, at the Dr. Appt, Can's BP was thru the roof, so Dr.Lenowitz started to get worried and wanted to deliver the baby ASAP. It was necessary so that Can's BP would go back to normal and the baby's health wouldn't be threatened. So the ripening took all night and at 6am the next morning, they gave her pitocen to start to induce her.
Candace: The contractions started to become regular, and I finally progressed to 1 cm, ...then around 2pm I was 2 cm...The nurse/midwife Jessica at my OBs office broke my water, she is so wonderful and so positive. Unfortunately I had only progressed to 2 ½ cm...The contractions were so strong they called for the epidural. I had a spinal epidural and at first it seemed to work...but then I had some reactions to the spinal...I was numb to my ears, my BP dropped REAL low and I was vomiting...a bit scary, but it wore off, along with the epidural not working at all. They decided to give me another epidural a little lower. Again, my body didn't respond. I tried to relax, the pain is so intense. It really is hard to explain. I could not have made it without Tim, my Mom and my nurse Theresa. They kept me calm and focused…it is so easy to panic, but I breathed through it and kept thinking of my baby’s sweet face and that I would soon meet him. After 13 hours of active labor, my contractions were measuring pretty high, I had no progress, the baby’s heart rate increased, so Dr. Lenowitz decided it was best to do a C-section. So we were off to the operating room. On the way there, my contractions were still coming pretty strong, but I was getting closer to meeting my little angel. It was happening so fast, yet it felt like slow motion. We got to the room and they gave me a ‘spinal’ to numb me. The put me on the table and I felt numb up to my ears once again. I was having trouble swallowing and asked for water, but in reality I was having trouble breathing, so they put an oxygen mask on me. Tim was watching and holding my hand. I would go to sleep and he would make sure I was awake and ok. He was so worried about me. It took longer to get to the baby than I thought…I am so used to watching all those baby shows where they deliver in 2 minutes. Heehee I forgot they have to prep everything. I just could not wait. When they were operating and I did not feel a thing. The Anesthesiologist was apologizing for the pressure…I didn’t even feel that. I was finally at peace and ready to meet our boy…
Tim: What happened next was just the most amazing experience of my life. I was in the ER with Candace the entire time and though I was worried a couple times, everything went well and after approximately an hour, they brought Tyler Christopher into our world and our hearts. He was the most precious being I'd ever laid eyes on. Candace and I broke down and had a sob fest when I showed her a video of him being born. Ya see, she had the drape thingie in front of her face so she couldn't see anything that was going on. However I managed to stand up several times (most of the time actually) and watch what was happening. Then after the baby was born and they took him over to clean him up, I went over and video taped him and talked to him and it stopped him from crying immediately. The feeling was incredible! I've always thought that babies just weren't that cute or that they look sort of "alien", but when I saw my boy, I thought he was the most gorgeous, precious little person I've ever seen. WOW!

Candace: We were so elated. It all felt like a dream…Tim and I were parents!

Well, after they put everything back and stitched me up I was off to recovery. I felt like I was going to throw up…and I did, luckily my Dr. noticed and opened a clothes hamper for me. Ewwww. I got to recovery, where I had to stay for an hour, but I got to feed Tyler for the first time. I was so afraid of breastfeeding, but once you see your little angel and he is depending on you, it is amazing. Everything changes and you want to do everything for him. Just looking at him, seeing his sweet little face…Words cannot describe. So finally I get to go to my room. It is a smaller room than the first one. Tim was with Tyler as he got his first bath. MY family was still in the waiting room. I could not wait to see everyone and my new son! My Mom and Dad, Tim’s Dad and sisters Debbie and Diane, Alexis my sister, Jordan my brother and my future sister-in-law Megan were all there. WE were so excited and waited patiently for Tim and Tyler to come back. They finally did and everyone was overwhelmed with tears….

Change in plans :)

Heading to the hospital tonite :)

Tomorrow the induction starts! They are getting me ready tonite :)

Wish us luck!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Candace and Tim

3 days until our Induction...

Hard to believe how close it is to meet our little boy! AHHHH! I am so excited!

I had another NST this morning. Our boy was chilling a little too much. He was moving, but his heart rate was not reacting enough...so Marilyn (our nurse tech) had to use a buzzer. It woke him up and his heart rate stayed up and we had to wait till it came down. She measured everything and is calling the Dr. She said she is not worried. The ultrasound test went well. She measures the amniotic fluid...watches his breathing, watches his little heart beat. He is so precious. I can't believe I get to see his little face soon. I am getting used to his routine and little movements. I think I might miss him being so close to me. I wonder if other Mom's feel the same way.

We have a Dr. appointment later today. I will update later :)

Love to all!

follow the yellow brick road...

Well it looks like our journey is coming to an end, while another door opens up and we are sent on a new one. Honestly it still hasn't sunk in that I'm gonna be a dad, but I'm sure that will pass after the baby is born and I'm holding him and he looks up and smiles at me. I can only imagine the bond that a father and mother have with an infant. I've always been the person that the babies or kids in the room would shy away from because I'm kind of intimidating looking I guess. Or at least I guess I used to be with my wierd spikey hair and earrings and tattoos, but maybe I still am. But now there is actually going to be a little one who will run to hide behind my legs from others and that feeling and thought is just amazing to me. Honestly I can't wait til next weekend.

Candace, this has been one of the hardest things you've probably ever done in your life and I admire you more than you know for being able to go through everything you went through all with a smile on your face. I love you and can't wait to share our baby's birth with you next weekend when we hold him and look in each other's eyes and smile.

Knowing that finally everything is right and well in our world...

Love you!

Daddy T

From 21 days till my due date to 7 or 8 days!!!!

Ahhh! I am so excited. Finding it hard to rest my mind. I keep thinking what he will look like, what it will feel like, how much everything changes...that this is our last weekend alone...It feels like a dream actually. It was a long hard road, but I am already starting to forget. I never thought that was possible. Everyone tells me the first time you look in his eyes, you only remember joy. I am starting to believe that is true.

Oh, I told y'all I was 2 cm dialated...well the Dr. mentioned 75%....we were not sure if that meant effaced or not...well the nurse today at the hospital said that it indeed meant effaced. Pretty cool huh!
The NST today went well. One more next Tues...

So currently I am 37 weeks. YAH! He is now considered 'full term'...YAH!
Here is what is going on this next week..

Your Baby This Coming Week 38
On average, at this time, a baby weighs about 6.8 pounds (3100g) and measures about 14 inches (35cm) from crown to rump and 21 inches (47cm) total in length.
Your baby is still growing and gaining weight. Your baby may gain as much as 1 ounce (28g) a day at this point.

We have an announcement!!!

This weekend will be the last weekend alone for us! WHY you ask?!

Well, at our Dr. appt tonite, the Dr. decided to induce me next Thursday (9th) or Friday(10th)!!!! It may take some time to get things going...so he might be born on Sat. the 11th...We are so excited, elated, scared...so many emotions. I will be 38 weeks...My blood pressure is still high and the best thing for us is to bring this little gent into the world. (Unless I go into labor before then...) I was 2 cm dialated! FUN!

Wish us lots of luck and prayers!!!!

The LAST day of May...

UPDATE on the latest NST...and shower stuff!!!

All is going well. We had an interesting appt. today. I was hooked up to the monitor and our boy was moving all around. I thought we were set, but evidently he was not being reactive (he was borderline as the nurse said) meaning his heart was not reacting to his movement. So in the meantime, as we were waiting, My OB Dr. came to the hospital to see me. He wanted to know how I was feeling with my fun lil PUPPPs rash and wanted to know my blood pressure. It was high again so we wants to see me tomorrow. He is a pretty cool Dr. and it makes me feel good to be getting such amazing care. He left and the nurse buzzed my belly to wake our boy up...his heart rate sped right up and it made me giggle. So cute. Can you imagine how I will handle his first word?! After that, he must have been ticked off, heehee he was so excited for the next hour, we could not leave till he settled down. Normally we are there for like 40 min max...but we were there for 2 hrs. Our feisty little monkey. I just love him.

And in the midst of my itching, I never told y'all about another shower I had! It was May 22nd. It was awesome! My Godmother Aunt Sandy, My sister Alexis, and my amazing friend (and Jordan's girlfriend) Megan threw it for me. I got there and getting out of the car I had a mild contraction which threw me in a giggle fit for some reason...and Tim was panicking that something was or was not wrong, which made me laugh more. Anyway, I took so long to enter the house, that everyone who was waiting was not sure when I was coming in. As I walked in...everyone looked at me ... paused...then said SURPRISE...it was funny. Only I would throw everyone off, right? So I got to sit in the comfy chair and I opened so many presents. My family and friends are so generous. I can't believe how much we got! Our swing, a photography gift certificate for a whole year, homemade blankets from Ms. Pauline, My Aunt Carole, and Dawn, childrens books, clothes, toys, high chair, gift certificates, Tim's sisters spoiled us with tons of gifts...We are so prepared. At least not needing anthing, parenting is another story..heehee
My Aunt made so much amazing food...Chicken Caesar Salad, Beef Tenderloin, Quiche, Chicken Salad, etc. Megan brought an adorable cake, so many deserts...Alexis, Megan and my Mom made the cutest favors. It was so nice. We are really loved, huh...My Aunt Marge and cousin Erin throwing me one in April and all my friends coming and giving me generous and adorable gifts and then Tim's Shower at work where they spoiled us, to this amazing shower...I am really blessed. Thank you everyone for loving us so much. What a beautiful welcoming for our son.

I also have to say thank you to my Mom, Dad, Timmy and sis Alexis for helping me organize. They came over Sat. and we washed all the baby clothes, My Mom and Tim organized the baby's closet and Tim set up the pack n play as a changer till we get the convertible crib and dresser/changer (a gift from my parents). Thank you so much for making things easier for me. MWAH!

K-so I wrote a book...heehee Maybe I am nesting in words...heehee

Love to all!

Feeling much better!

I am still itchy, but NOTHING like it was...I still have to endure my cold showers...but I am used to them now heehee. Love to my Timmy for putting up with me and taking such good care of me.

Well..one more day till JUNE! 25 days till my due date!

I have felt a couple contractions...but nothing realy painful. More crampy than anything.

I have wicked heartburn...heard the old wives tale that it might mean that our boy will have lots of hair. I was BALD...not sure about Timmy. My brother and sister were born with lots of hair. Hmmm...whattya'll think?

I still feel the little ones kicks, but now there is a lot of squirming as he is running out of room. Tim and I have a blast watching his little show. It is wild to see your whole belly move on its own and realize it is a little person, with a cute little heart inside. I am so in love already. I can't imagine holding him in my arms.

(Mom, thank you for what you wrote. I love you so much)

Alrighty...

Love to all...

A beautiful congrats to Dave and Theresa with the birth of their little girl Talia Marie and also to Dal and Suzanne with the birth of their little girl Kayli Lyric.

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My...

Don't know why that's the subject, but what can ya do?

Can's family came over today and helped us sort through the 5 million things we got at our showers. We got so much stuff its crazy. We need to build another house just to store the baby's stuff. He is SO loved. Thank you everyone.

I put the pack and play together today and the room is almost finished except for furniture that should be here in a couple weeks hopefully. Can't wait to see the finished product???? Neither can I!!!!! It's going to look so awesome, I can't wait.

Can's mom washed all the baby clothes today in Dreft and folded and sorted everything into bins. This child has more clothes than I do! But I bet that he throws up on his more than I do! ha ha. Wondering why all babies smell good (and sorta all the same?) Go to the grocery store and open a bottle of Dreft and you'll see why! That stuff ROCKS!

Can's rash is pretty bad still. Nothing is working. We spent Thursday night in the Prenatal ER again because of her BP and rash (I may have blogged that already, but I'm not sure). They gave her a shot of Benedryl and it did absolutely nothing at all. So they prescribed a steroid that I ended up going out and getting in the middle of the night. Hopefully that will work. I feel so bad for her, but I can't do much to help other than to be patient and loving (and scratching. ha ha.)

Love you Can!

Sleeps not happening...

Well, I am going crazy. My PUPPPs rash is spreading and I am a mess. How many cold showers can one take? So it is 2:30 am and my poor sweet husband is going to the 24 hr pharmacy to get me relief. Pray this new prescription works. So right now, as I am crying in dispair, I am so blessed to have such a loving man love me so much. What a wonderful daddy he will be.

I want a good night sleep so bad!!!

Well...Tim and I spent the evening in L&D...and not for the good reason. NO BABY YET...Although I am so ready, he is still cooking. My Blood Pressure was a little high, but it went down with rest. The other reason was my PUPPPs as Tim has explained previous. This rash is awful and itchy! It was so bad, they tried to give me an IV drip of Benedryl...DIDN'T work!!! I was not even sleepy and the baby was moving all around! So they are giving me an oral steroid, but if that does not work...then I just suffer more. A cool thing was I had a contraction...and it measured on the monitor. Was not big or anything, but nonetheless, EXCITING! In one hour I will offically be 36 weeks DOWN!!!! 28 days to go too!

Here is what will be happening this coming week.

Your Baby Week 37
Your baby is now considered full term. He weighs approximately 6.5 lbs (2950g) and his total length is about 21 inches (47cm). Your baby's crown to rump measurement is about 14 inches (35cm).
By now, your baby's head may have engaged into your pelvis. (I feel this...OUCH!)
You may feel that your baby occasionally has hiccups from its "practice breathing". (
This makes me smile)
Though your baby is considered full term, he is still growing and developing both his body and his brain.
He is still laying down fat at a rate of more than half an ounce every day.

Love to all and esp. Daddy T!!!

Cand

scratch scratch scratch

Poor Candace, she has a case of the PUPPS. Yeeeeup, you read it correctly, PUPPS. Not sure what it stands for, but it means that you break out into a bad rash all over your body and it drives you crazy cause it ITCHES!!! When she called me the other day telling me she had PUPPS, I thought to myself, "self, my girl is cracking up cause I KNOW we have 3 dogs..." but when I got home and saw the rash I felt bad. The only thing I can do is lay in bed and scratch and rub her back to help her try and feel just a little better. The Dr. gave her a prescription but it hasn't kicked in yet. It's supposed to remove the bile from the area of the rash and help her stop itching. They said that if it doesn't work that they will have to do an Amnio and make sure the baby's lungs are developed and then maybe induce labor. So we have our fingers crossed and we've been praying like crazy, so we'll see what happens. We are hoping that a rough pregnancy means that the baby will be a complete ANGEL when it gets here. Ya know, kinda like pay me now or pay me later. Can has been paying for the last 8+ months so we are hoping the next 8+ will be smoothing sailing.... :)

I've finished up the molding and am now painting the nail holes to cover them up. I put up the drape, but have to hang the curtains this weekend. I'll post pics when I'm done. That's if it doesn't rain all weekend because I'd like to have the pictures look a little sunny instead of gloomy from being cloudy outside.

All of our friends are having their baby's!!! Soon it will be our turn.

Stay Tuned...

Love you Can!

35 weeks down, 35 days till my due date...

I have a beautiful case of INSOMNIA! I have been so tired all day...and here I am at 1 am...WIDE AWAKE...AHHHH! The joys of pregnancy. heehee I have to be up at 6:45 to get ready and eat protein for my NST at 8 am! I need sleep...I have tried many relaxation techniques...NONE WORKED... I was laying there, watching Tim, feeling jealous and then thought...awwww he slept like an angel at the same time. I wish him a good night sleep...Pleasant Dreams...you are lovely Timmy, but I am still jealous. ;)

Might as well tell you what is going on this week...35 weeks DOWN! 35 days till my due date!
Here is what is going on with our boy this next week...(WEEK 36)

Your Baby Week 36
Your baby weighs about 6 lbs (2750g) (3 weeks ago our boy was 5 lbs 1 oz...I'd guess he's about 6.5 now...)and measures about 20.7 inches (46cm) in length. Crown to rump measurement is about 13.5 inches (34cm).
Your baby now feels lower in your pelvis.
Your baby continues to grow, kick, and move about.
Your baby's face has filled out and the cheeks now look plump and full. Fat baby cheeks are caused by fat deposits, but also by powerful sucking muscles which your baby has been honing by sucking her thumb.
Your baby's skull is firm, but it is not hard as it needs to give a little when it is passing through the birth canal.
Your baby's head is probably down by now, but about three percent of babies present in a breech (bottom down) position. Your doctor may try to turn your baby around if it is in a breech position by putting pressure on your abdomen. This is called external cephalic version (ECV) and is effective in about 50% of cases. If your baby is in a breech position, ask your doctor about what your options are for the birth. You may or may not require a cesarean delivery.

Alrighty...Hope all of you are sleeping as peacefully as Timmy is at the moment. MWAH!

Love,

Candace

Yah Daddy!

Tim finished the room last night! It looks soooo wonderful. He worked so hard. It is warm and loving. Such a precious little boy room! I can't wait for you all to see it! My Mom has an amazing eye for design. It looks like the room stepped out of a design show. I can't wait to get the furniture in place and everything. I LOVE it!!! So much love went into doing this room.

Nothing new today. Just about 35 weeks. I have 36 days till my due date! WHOO HOO! The baby is running out of room...

The baby's room....

is coming along nicely. Almost finished. Candace just called. Her parents bought us a CRIB and Dresser/Changing Table. How incredibly awesome and sweet is THAT!?!?! Wow. I was very surprised and I can't wait til it is delivered!! WOW! I'm speechless. Kinda in shock.

Can had another NST today. She was there for about an hour and a half. She said that the baby wouldn't relax, he was moving and kicking and jumping and squirming and they couldn't get an accurate read on him for a while. But I guess he finally calmed down a bit and everything checked out fine and Can's BP is still down, so that is good. So she is on her way back home to crawl back into bed cause she is still on bed rest. But she has a dr. appt. tonight, so we'll be heading up to BelAir later this evening for that.

Can, I love you! I can't wait to see the crib and dresser.

Daddy T

So close...and still SOOOO far away!

Hello, Hello! Well...38 days till my due date! I can't wait...It feels like time is standing still. I have a busy day today...NST at 10 and my weekly Dr. appt. tonite. I cannot believe how big my belly has gotten...I can't imagine or even remember how it used to be. I have come up with this oh so beautiful heat rash on my belly that won't go away. The air conditioning is full blast, I can't even use covers, and poor Tim sleeps like he is going to brave the worst blizzard ever. How many layers honey?
I can't remember what a good night sleep feels like. One day...I guess when our boy is 18. heehee
Last night the baby was moving all around and poking my upper belly with his knees...I guess it was his knee, maybe his foot..and Tim got to feel it. It was quite strange, but beautiful. I still can't believe there is a little man growing inside me...so close to my heart already... :)

Love,

Cand

Sunday Sunday....again... :)

Well I got all the wallpaper hung in the baby's room today. Tomorrow night I'll be putting the molding up around the middle stripe and then I'll post some pictures of the entire process. I have also been working on the video to get it put online and am looking into the streaming process. Check back later in the week for that and for the pics of the baby room.

Can still has pains and her high blood pressure, but I've been trying to take as much of the burden off of her as possible. Hopefully my helping her out throughout the day is making her life a "little" easier. I feel so bad that I can't do much more for her other than offer massages, rub her little feet and fix her some tasty food. But we are getting by and we'll get through this and our little one will be here soon enough!!!

Then I'll be massaging his back, rubbing his feet and fixing HIM some tasty food!!!! hee hee...

Daddy T, OUTTIE!!!

34 weeks down!!! 6 till my due date!

Hello...It's Saturday Morning...Tim just made me and the baby breakfast. He makes the best eggs. I have always been so picky about my eggs...He has got the skill down. He is taking such good care of lil ol bedrest me! heehee Poor thing is gonna do the food shopping soon, and he is gonna finish wallpapering the baby's room. PHEW! AND ME! I just lay here and keep the baby growing safely. Everyone tells me to enjoy this, but it is so HARD! I want to do so much. Not too much longer...

We had another fantastic NST yesterday. We get to see our boy everytime because they do an ultrasound ot measure the amniotic fluid. YUP...still a BOY! We go every Tues and Fri. for the Non-Stress Tests...I can't wait until we bring him safely into the world.

We finished our last childbirth class on Wed. We knew a lot of stuff already, but the teacher answered a lot of questions and she was great. So much energy she had. We learn a lot of relaxation and breathing techniques. Cand got herself LOTS of massages in that class. heehee I hope I can relax when the real labor comes! The fear of the unknown.
I think our boy dropped because I have so much pain a pressure down low. I have carried him low this whole pregnancy, but it feels different. We had a tour of the hospital last night too. It was neat. As we were walking down the hall, a nurse we walked past said "I will see all of you soon"...looked at me and said "I will see you REAL soon"...Me and my sexy waddle.

34 weeks and 1 day! 41 days till my due date!

Here is whats going on with our boy this week!

Your Baby Week 35
Your baby now measures about 20.25 inches (45cm) in total length and weighs around 5.5 lbs (2550g). Crown to rump measurement is about 13.2 inches (33cm).
He continues to grow and fatten up, especially in the shoulder area, and kicks regularly.
The fine lanugo hair that covered your baby is shedding, though some may still be present when your baby is born.
Your baby's eyes are blue, though this may change soon after birth or much later after birth.
Your baby's fingernails are growing. They already reach the tips of his fingers and they may even look quite long and pointy by the time he is born. Your baby may even have some scratch marks from scratching his face with his fingernails.
Your baby is probably feeling quite cramped right now and his movements are restricted by his growing size.

Love to all, especially Timmy!

What a wonderful surprise!

The people at my work (Candace knew about it and didn't tell me) just completely shocked me with a surprise baby shower. I was so CLOSE to crying it was unbelievable. It meant so much to me and I am still in shock. I got so many gifts and a $150.00 gift certificate to Baby's R Us! How awesome is that? Wow. I'm still sorta speechless. I was taken downstairs to a room and told that I should go in there because they are discussing the parking at work, so I naively go in and BANG! Camera flashes, "SURPRISE" and I'm speechless and expressionless because I was in such shock.

Wow...

Today has just gotten better...

I love you Candace!

Drumroll please...

Our sweet little boy weighs 5 lbs 1 oz as of Friday's ultrasound. He is in the 70th percentile (50 is average) So he is above average already. I am so excited! They were worried about his growth because of my blood pressure and a few weeks ago it seemed as though he was not growing. I guess this bedrest is really helping a lot! Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Wednesday, Wednesday...

Can goes to the doctor today at 12ish. I think we find out how big the baby is today. We'll post that info when we find it out.

The baby's room is coming along great with the help and guidance of Can's mom. She should be an interior decorator, I tell ya. I have been hanging wallpaper with her help and last night I put 4 pieces up by myself and I must say, I think I've got the hang of it. Yeeeupity yeeup. I've been taking pictures during the entire process, so as I've said before, I'll post them when the room is finished.

This weekend I'm also gonna put up video of the 3D ultrasound. The only problem is that you have to download the entire video because I haven't figured out how to stream it. If anyone knows, holla at me so I can get this shiznit posted!

Much love to Candace who has had a tough journey the past 8 months. Poor thing is still on bedrest because of her high blood pressure. However, the journey is almost coming to completion and we'll get to meet the fruit of our (Can's) labor very very soon. Say a prayer for us and stay tuned...

Daddy T, OUT!

33 weeks down! 7 more to go...maybe!

Had the sonogram today. 33 weeks DOWN :) (49 days till my due date) The tech said he looks like he is measuring right on...so that it good. She is gonna put all the info in the computer and it will tell her approx. his size and weight. I will find out the info at my next appt. on Wed. We got cute little profile picts. Poor child must feel like the papparazzi is following him. 4 Ultrasounds and 1 3D Ultrasound! His is a little star already!

Here is what will be happening this next week...
Your Baby Week 34
Your baby weighs almost 5 lbs (2250 g) and is 12.8 inches (32cm) from crown to rump and about 19.8 inches (44cm) long.
If your baby were born now, he would be considered "pre-term" rather than premature. This distinction is based on fetal maturity, particularly the maturity of the fetal lungs. A pre-term baby, unlike a premature baby, is likely to have well-developed lungs and is less likely to need intensive care.
Your baby is surrounded by a red glow when sunlight shines on your belly and may be aware of this as he is able to differentiate between light and dark.
Your baby's hair is getting thicker, though it may be a different color when he is older.
He is currently shedding his lanugo, the fine downy hair that previously covered his body.
More vernix, the waxy coating that protects your baby's skin while submerged in amniotic fluid, is building up.
Your baby's adrenal glands are producing more steroid hormone, the androgen-like hormone that indirectly aids your milk production. Your baby is currently producing ten times more of this hormone than a normal adult and the adrenal glands are currently the same size as those of an adolescent. They will shrink after birth.
Your baby is laying down bone. To do this, he will draw calcium from you.
Your baby has taste buds and it has been suggested that she can taste and develop tastes for flavors found in the amniotic fluid, particularly flavors that you eat on a regular basis.

Love to all, esp. daddy T!

Happy ANNIVERSARY to GiGi (tenative title :) )and Poppy!!!

Today went well :)

Had our first Non-Stress Test for our little one today. It went well. I was monitored for the baby's heartbeat, movement, and if I had any contractions. I was hooked up for about 45 minutes. The nurse said everything looked great! So far, so good! I also had a small ultrasound to check the amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus. He has plenty so that is good as well. I have to have a Non-Stress Test (NST) 2x a week until we deliver.

We have another ultrasound tomorrow to check his measurements.

Tim and I figured we should pack a bag "just in case" . If the tests showed signs of distress, then they would do an emergency C-section...maybe being prepared would help slow down the arrival...cause things usually happen when you least expect it :) I washed a bunch of his little clothes, his onsies, and socks, his 'lil prince outfit', his rockstar onesie. heehee I bought a couple nightgowns for me in the hospital and we will be READY! Can you believe that Tim and I will be parents in less than 2 months! (50 days till my due date, if I make it that long...BP pending...heehee)

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

Hanging in here...

Well, another week is almost over...Thank God. 33 weeks just about down...not sure how many I have left to go. According to the Dr. we are buying time. He said hopefully we can keep our son growing for another month. I have Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH) or very close to Preeclampsia. If my BP keeps going up, then they need to re-evaluate things. If it got too high, there is a risk for me and our boy. I could have a stroke or a seizure.
I have been on bedrest (modified-meaning I can work a couple hrs. a day). I go tomorrow for the babies 1st non-stress test that I will have to do twice a week, and Friday we have to have another ultrasound to measure our little one to make sure he is growing. I have been a little afraid, scared I did something wrong to cause this...but I didn't. Like my Mom said, it is the pregnancy I am supposed to have, and that God does not give you more than you can handle. I am happy the Dr. is watching my lil one and my health so closely.

Please keep us in your prayers.

I have the itch to start organizing things...and i have to lay on the couch. Tim, feel like cleaning out my closet?

Tim has been great taking care of me. Such an amazing man.

I will post the next weeks events soon! Let you know how tomorrow goes.

Monday Monday...

Well not much going on in the Minnicks camp other than a lot of uncomfortable sleepless nights and some stress trying to get the baby's room completed before he gets here. I can tell that Candace is getting more and more uncomfortable and I feel so bad for her. It's getting worse and worse and I think we are both looking forward to getting this baby here healthy, happy and NOW!!! ha ha. Ok, not really now cause he would have to stay in the NICU, but you know what I mean. It stinks because Can is up all night and finally settles into a sound sleep around 5-6am. Just in time for me to wake her up when I'm leaving for work. She's a trooper though and has her chin up and is taking it all in stride.

We started birthing classes. They are pretty cool so far. I've learned pressure points and where to massage Can when she is in labor to take any stress and anxiety away from her. Did you know the hand is the best place to massage to get someone's thoughts off of what is going on? Yeeeup! Something like 10,000 messages sent to the brain when someone massages your hand. Crazy stuff, huh? We take a tour of the OBTLC in 3 weeks. I can't wait for that. It's gonna be cool seeing where you go and the room and stuff and where to hook up my XBOX. Just kidding about the XBOX of course. (luckily we are 2 minutes away from the hospital so I can run home and play in between contractions!) Ok, seriously I'm just playing. ha ha. I'm just going crazy waiting to meet our little boy and now even though there are only 2 months left it seems like forever. MAN I've gotta get this room done!

I'll be posting pics of the baby's room soon and I'll also be posting video that I've been editing of the 3D ultrasound, hopefully by the end of the week.

I love you Can!

Whats going on this week....

I am 32 weeks and 2 days...the beginning of week 33! 54 days left! Well its 11:30 Sat. night...tomorrow I will have 54 days till my due date. :) I am uncomfy and I can't sleep...all the joys of mommyhood are starting! heehee

Your Baby this week 33
Your baby now weighs about 4.4 lbs (2000g) and measures about 12 inches (30cm) from crown to rump and about 19.4 inches (43cm) in total.
Now that your baby is running out of room in your womb, you can probably see the shape of a foot, an elbow or a knee as your baby kicks.
Your baby may dream as he sleeps and when awake may be alert, listening, feeling and even seeing dim shapes.
Though your baby is still inside the womb, he is learning all the time as billions of neurons are making connections.
Your baby is probably in his birth position by now.
Your baby's lungs may be sufficiently developed by now, though if he were born now, he would probably still need an incubator to stay warm.

MWAH!!!!

Baby Dreams....

Well, we had our first class last Wed. night. It gives you the basics, and LOTS or relaxation techniques (which I love). Deep breathing, Tim giving me massages, Focusing... Getting ready for our BIG DAY! It is coming sooo soon! We are getting so excited. 56 DAYS LEFT till my DUE DATE (maybe sooner, but not toooo soon, gotta keep this lil one growing)! I am 32 weeks today! Starting the 33rd! Time feels like it is dragging, but before I know it another week has gone by.

So far so good, Had a good report with Dr. Lenowitz. I still have to see him weekly. Still on modified bedrest. I can only work a few hrs. a day and have to lay on my left side most of the time. He said that whatever I am doing, I need to keep doing. I have been following the rules...it is worth it for our boy. He said he is prob. about 4 pounds.

I am getting the itch to do things though and it is sooo hard. Esp. when I am so uncomfy just laying around. heehee Tim has been wonderful and really helpful to me. He does not complain and is so supportive. He will be the best daddy! He is working so hard on the baby's room! I can't wait!

Had a sweet dream about our son last night. I have lots of VIVID dreams as all the books tell you that you will. It was dark (maybe chillin im my womb) and we were at the beach. My boy was a chubby lil thing, with dark hair and a smile that would light up the room (or my womb...heehee) He wanted to put his feet in the water...and I said it was too cold...he looked at me with these BIG EYES and GORGEOUS SMILE and said, "It's OK..." To me though...I feel like it had a deeper meaning, I keep replaying it in my head. It has been a rough road. Not as tough for most, but not easy, and I worry...but it was like he was telling me not too...

Anyway...gotta go for now. I will add some info in a little while :)

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock...

Well, not much is going on. Tim hooked up my laptop so I can lay here on my left side and type. So I am chillin and there is nothing on TV. I have been working on my Thank You notes...so many to write. I was so blessed! My handwriting is not as good, thanks to my swelly lil fingers. I should finish all of them tonite hopefully.

Tim has been working sooo hard on our sweet little boy's room. I can't wait so see the finished room. He is painting now as I type.

61 days till my due date! (June 24th)

Saturday....

Actually its Sunday, but only by an hour or so. Anyway, I continued working on the baby room today. I painted the stripe some more and it is starting to shape up. Tomorrow morning I will finish painting the final coat, peel the tape and then paint the bottom part of the wall.

Today was pretty uneventful except for working on the baby room and lounging around. Can keeps getting wierd pains here and there, but all in all she is doing pretty well considering she has a 3-4 pound baby in her belly. Last night we had a date. We pulled the sleep sofa out and watched some wierd movie about an all girl punk rock band. I went to Lowes and bought popcorn and went to Red Brick Station and got dinner and came back and we hung out and watched the movie and had a fun little time. I can't imagine that in a couple months we will no longer be able to watch movies or go places alone. It's a wierd thought, but I'm looking forward to having someone call me daddy!

I'm in the process of converting the baby 3D ultrasound DVD to my computer so I can edit it and put clips on the site. Stay tuned...

Daddy OUT!

Saturday, April 23, 2005

Well yeeeup...

As Can mentioned, the Dr. thinks the baby will be here early. We'll see what happens, but we are taking everything one day at a time and saying our prayers and crossing our fingers and toes and hope (and know deep down inside) that everything will happen when its supposed to. :)

Everything is in God's hands anyway, so if he decided that Tyler needed to meet us tomorrow for some reason, what can we do about it except go along for the ride and meet our little man 2 months early. Can started her 32 week, so thats cool. I can NOT wait to meet my baby boy. Can is so precious and adorable and I love her so much. She has really been strong and I'm blessed to have her in my life.

I can't wait to meet this baby though!!!

Can mentioned that I painted the magnetic paint. Yeeeup. I've got the stripe in the room almost finished and I've taken pictures, so I'll post them once everything is done along with final picts of the room. It should turn out really really nice. Can's mom should be an interior decorator. She has a knack for that type of stuff. Meanwhile I'm content with white walls and ceilings...ha ha...

Tomorrow I finish the stripe in the room and then paint the bottom half of the wall. I bought a paint sprayer, hooked it up to my compressor and painted the molding to go on the wall and it turned out rather nice. For the past 3 days I had been brushing the paint on, but it turned out too thin and you could see the primer behind it. But today I broke out the new sprayer and let me tell you, I had everything painted in no time at all and its a thick coat and looks great. It was easy too! I think I'll be spraying the fence with this bad boy! Picts will be posted when everything is done.

Even though Can keeps bringing baby clothes up and hanging them in Tyler's closet, the downstairs STILL looks like an aisle from Babies R' Us!!! hee hee....

Take care everyone and God bless!

T-Dad out and ready for the weekend.

Starting my 32nd week!

Well, It's been a interesting ride! Let me tell ya...We are hanging in there :) Bedrest, while not fun, esp. when you are uncomfy...is well worth it...keeping this lil one growing. Each day is a blessing....63 days till my due date...Dr. thinks it might be sooner than that...We'll see...I feel like our boy is trying to get out now the way he has been kicking! I think we got us a lil soccer star!

My shower was so lovely! It was amazing. MY Aunt Marge and Erin (Our boy's Godmommy) gave it to us...It was wonderful as Tim told ya. The decorations, the food, the cake was adorable...everything was wonderful! We got so many lovely things! All our friends and some family were there. I have sooo many pregger friends too! It was nice they came. Ashes is gonna have TWINS! And Melissa is due is 4 weeks!!! I feel so blessed and lucky to have so many amazing people around me. MWAH to you all!

Tim has been busy working on the room...my Mom designed it. It is gonna be off the hook! Totally a BOY room with airplanes and stars! I can't wait till it is finished! Tim painted the magnetic paint today...just a hint for ya...We will have to post pictures of the progress.

Tim has been amazing...foot rubs and back rubs every day! Am I lucky or what! MWAH to my honey!

31 weeks down...here is what is in store for this week!
Your Baby This Coming Week 32
Your baby's total length is 18.9 inches (42cm) and he is perfectly formed! He measures about 11.6 inches (29cm) from crown to rump. All he has to do is fill out more. Your baby weighs almost 4 pounds (1800g). If she were to be born now, she would still need to be incubated as he has insufficient fat stores to keep it warm.
Your baby can distinguish between light and dark.
Your baby can hear the outside world quite well now, and can also hear the sounds of your heartbeat, your digestion and the blood rushing in the umbilical cord. The pitch of women's voices are in the range babies are most able to hear over all the internal background noise. Your baby is already familiar with your voice and will be able to recognize it after birth. Awwwwwww!!!

Much love to all!!!

Stuff, Stuff, Stuff...

Well, we got lots happenin' in the Minnicks household. I started the baby's room. I haven't really done much other than draw lines on the walls and paint some molding. But I'm gonna probably slap some paint on the walls Thursday night. Gotta get this room done!!!

We have signed up for 3 classes. Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Child Birthing (3 week class!) and a tour of the OBTLC. We start the A&PM tomorrow night. Then next wednesday starts the child birthing classes. I'm looking forward to them! Can is gonna do so awesome. She is so strong and I know that she is gonna kick right through this birthing thing if its anything like the 75 other surgery's she has had! ha ha. Seriously though, she'll do great.

Can's blood pressure is still high, so she has to go to the dr. every week now and we'll see how it goes. Then in 2 weeks she has to go and get the baby checked every week to make sure things are cool. She's doing great and the baby is doing great though and we can't wait to meet him!

This pregnancy thing is TOUGH! I give props to everyone who has been through it and thank my lucky stars that I am a male because otherwise the family name would stop here....ha ha....or...thinking about it, the family name would stop here anyway if I weren't a male....uhm...you get the point I think. :)

Can had a baby shower this Sunday. It was SO cool. It was at Desantis Restaurant, given by Erin and Aunt Marge. There were over 30 people there, all Can's friends. She/we/Tyler got tons of stuff and right now our dining room looks like an aisle from Baby's R' Us!!! Once I finish the baby's room I'll move everything upstairs and make it all neat. But she/we/Tyler got so much stuff that we are overwhelmed. Kinda like that first time we walked into Baby's R' Us to register. ha ha... Thanks, hugs and love to everyone!

Can is sleeping and I'm gonna join her in a few minutes....

T-Dad Out and ready for beddie bye....good night to all.

So I sit here...

...in awe just thinking about Candace and what she is going through and finding comfort in the fact that she is one of the strongest people I know and that I hope just 2% rubs off on our little boy. If it does (and I know it will) he'll be the bestest, strongest little guy that I know. Ya see we had another little scare tonight. Candace has been home sick the last couple days and today when I got home she told me that she had pains in her back and when she went up to take a shower she threw up. So I called the doctor and he told us to come into the emergency room and he'd take a look. Well 4+ hours later Can found out that she was dehydrated from being sick and they gave her a (BIG) bag of sodium chloride (and we watched tons of TV), they did tons of tests, then sent us merrily on our way (but it didn't go by as fast as it seems like it did on this post) 4+ hours later. But then again, knowing that nothing was seriously wrong was VERY comforting and I'd do the 4+ hours again in a heartbeat just so Can doesn't have to worry that something is wrong. The funny thing is, our boy was kicking ALL over the place and when they put the thingamabob on her belly to monitor the baby, he wouldn't stay still and they ended up moving it like 15 times and it still wasn't accurate. He was kicking and pounding and just loving life. I can't wait to meet him. The time draws closer...

Can, I love you. I wish I could take an ounce of what you are going through away from you and put it on me to help you out....

For all those expecting, I read a GREAT quote the other day...

"The days go by slow, but the years go by fast"

That's me being philisophical (and not knowing how to spell it.) How true is that? It makes me tear up just thinking that in a couple years our boy is gonna be going off to college and I only have $500 in his college fund!!!! (joking of course. I have more than a "couple" years) :)

Well its getting late so I'm gonna go in and snuggle up to my honey and catch a few Z's. But I probably won't be able to snuggle thanks to that dang pillow that takes up 3/4 of the bed.... hee hee...

The baby's room gets started this weekend!!!!

30 weeks down and 70 days to go!

It is so hard to believe I have 10 weeks left. I remember getting my first ultrasound at 10 weeks. There is so much left to do!!! Tim is starting on the nursery this weekend. I can't wait! We signed up for all our classes and the tour. It is getting more and more exciting! I still can't believe I am gonna be a MOM!

We had a scary week...at my routine Dr. appt. My blood pressure was elevated and my legs, feet and hands were swelling. I have to have my BP checked again Tues. Hopefully it goes down. Until then I have to take it easy. Let me tell ya...I am soooo good at that...But I was scared because they tested me for Preeclampsia. I had all my blood tests and all my numbers came back great. I was scared I would have to deliver my son early and he would have to be in the NICU cause being in my belly would not be the best for him. Now that everything is OK, 70 days does not seem so long after all.

And I just have to say how lucky our boy is gonna be having Tim as his daddy. Tim takes such good care of me, pregnant or not, he really will do anything for me. I am certain he will go to the end of the earth for our son. It really warms my heart when I think about it. He had read every book and is really getting ready to be the best daddy. He is the cutest.
I am so blessed and lucky.

Here is what is gonna go on with our son this week!!!

Your Baby This Week (week 31)
Your baby now weighs about 3.5 lbs (1600g) and measures about 18 inches (40cm) in total and about 11.2 inches (28cm) from crown to rump.
Your baby's increasing size means that she has less room to move around in your uterus.
Your baby could already be moving into the head-down position.
Your baby's lungs are maturing and their lining, which prevents air sacs from collapsing, is growing. This lung development means that your baby would have a much greater chance of survival if he were born prematurely.
About 16 fluid ounces of blood are flowing through the wall%2

Not much going on...

Can isn't feeling well today. I'm tired but handling it. Been putting in 60 hours a week and haven't had time to even think about the baby's room. But that will all change this weekend hopefully and I'll be able to get rollin' on the baby's room and at least get it cleaned up and maybe painted or start something at LEAST. I feel like such a slacker. I have so much stuff to do around the house, I'm glad the weather is starting to finally break. Just in time for a little baby. 2+ months to go....

I can't wait....

74 days and counting down!!!

I am getting so excited..it seems so close, yet so far away. We still have so much to do!

My boy is kicking like crazy at the moment! It is such an amazing feeling as the kicks get stronger and stronger. Yesterday I put a pillow on my tummy and Tim and I watched his little soccer practice as he was kicking the lil pillow off. So fun! Sometimes I can feel his lil bottom (or something) up by my ribs. It is not a comfy feeling, but he is getting bigger and bigger, and 10.4 weeks to go! My Dr. appt was last wed. but they had to cancel with us because another little one was being delivered. :) So it is this Wed. now. Pretty soon I will have to go to the Dr. every 2 weeks. Tick, tock, tick, tock!

Congrats to my beautiful friends whom are gonna be parents...I am not sure if they want the news out, or for me to be the one to tell...but they are people who are dear to my heart and I am so thrilled for them! They will be wonderful parents! Lucky baby!

Here is going on this WEEK 30!!!!

"Your Baby This Week
Your baby now weighs about 3 lbs (1400g), measures about 10.8 (27cm) inches from crown to rump and measures about 17 inches (38cm) from head to toe.
Your baby is probably aware of your Braxton Hicks contractions, which you experience regularly, even when you do not notice them.
By this time, your baby is very active and you feel its movements frequently.
Your baby is still practicing breathing movements which have now become rhythmic.
Sometimes your baby gets the hiccups when she accidentally swallows amniotic fluid the wrong way.
She is getting fatter and plumper. On an ultrasound, you can see your baby's activities quite easily.
Your baby has periods of rest and periods of activity now. Your baby is probably most active when you are trying to rest. (So true!)"

MWAH to all!

Circle of Life

My Pop-pop passed away last night at 10:58 pm. I am sad because I will miss him, but am happy he is no longer in pain and he is in heaven dancing with my Mom-mom as we speak. He can walk again, travel if he wants too, is hanging out with the Pope...he is free, and I like to think he is playing with our son and getting to know him. Thank you for all yout thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday morning we were able to see our little boy's sweet little face. As daddy Tim told ya, we had our 3D ultrasound. My Mom, Sister Alexis, Aunt Sandy, Brother Jordan, Megan, and cousin Erin were all there with Tim and I. My dad stayed with my Pop-pop to take care of him.

Tim will be posting pictures, but here is a sneak peak :) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/djcandyrocker/baby.jpg
The tech said he had chubby lil cheeks and could tell he was a big baby. We saw his little private parts and he is definitely a boy. He was pretty relaxed and comfy in my tummy. He was smiling, frowning, waving his lil arms around, sticking his tongue out. It is hard to believe that he is our little boy and I will be able to meet him in 82 days!

Here is what is going on with the baby this week. (Week 29) (11.4 more weeks to go)

Your Baby This Week
Your baby now weighs about 2.7 lbs (1250g), measures about 10.4 inches (26cm) from head to toe, and is around 16.7 inches (37cm) long. It is plumper and rounder, and its head and body are beginning to be in proportion.
Your baby now uses all of its senses. It can see, taste, recognize touch and the sound of your voice.
During the last trimester, your baby will receive antibodies from you through your placenta that will provide immunity from many diseases.
Your baby's adrenal glands are producing androgen-like substances. Androgens are normally male sex hormones, but in late pregnancy, when they reach the placenta they are turned into estrogen which in turn stimulates the production of prolactin in your body. Prolactin is the hormone needed for milk production. In this exchange, your baby is beginning to stimulate milk production in your breasts so that when he is born there will be food waiting for him.

Love you all...

Candace

Life's the same, I'm moving in stereoooo....

We had the 3D ultrasound today and it was incredible. The baby was very cooperative and we got some great pictures and a DVD of the session. I'll be posting pictures and video of the session within the next week or so. Stay tuned!

Candace is doing well, we are just chuggin' along waiting to meet the little guy. :)

Congrats to Jon and Sharon on the birth of their baby Nia.
and...
Congrats to Pat and Kelly on the birth of their baby Luke Patrick.

86 days left...and counting down!

All is well in the land of a growing tummy. Whew! It is rather humorous. I got the waddle down and it feels like every day it gets bigger and bigger! His kicks are stronger too.

Sadly, my Pop-pop is not doing well, and he is making his next journey to be with God in heaven very soon. Everytime I am in his room, our boy just kicks and kicks. Tim's Mom, my Mom-mom, my Ducka (other grandmom) and all the angels are probably playing with our little son. I am sad my Poppers won't be able to meet him, but I have a feeling he will get to meet him before we do. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Congrats to Pat and Kelly, they had a baby boy last Friday! Luke Patrick!

This is whats going on with our boy this week :) YUPPERS...3rd trimester!
Your Baby Week 28
"Your baby weighs about 2.5 lbs (1100g) and is about 10 inches (25cm) from crown to rump and15 inches (36 cm) long from head to toe.
At this time, the baby has tastebuds which allow it to distinguish between sweet, sour and bitter tastes.
Brain tissue and brain development increases at this time as your baby grows the folds and grooves needed for a developed brain.
Eyebrows and eyelashes are probably present and the hair on your baby's head is growing longer.
Your baby's body is filling out, getting a bit fatter as fat deposition continues, but it is still somewhat red and wrinkled.
Your baby is big enough for his presentation to be determined. That is, your caregiver can probably tell how your baby is oriented in your uterus. He may be breech (bottom down) or head first. If your baby is in a breech position now, there is no need to worry as there is still plenty of room and time for your baby to change positions.
Your baby can feel pain and respond to it in the same way as a full term baby. "

Love,

Candace

3 days till the 3rd trimester starts!!!

All is well and good. We are all hanging in there. Started having the weird pregnancy dreams that you read about. Sometimes they are frightening. Some are beautiful...I like the ones where I am holding our boy and playing with him. I see his little hands gripping my finger a lot. I have not seen in face in my dreams. All I know is that I am in love with this little person. I can't imagine what it will feel like to hold him in my arms for the first time.

Thinking of our friends who are getting ready to deliver shortly! Pat and Kelly are due March 31st and Jon and Sharon are due April 9th or 10th! They are both is my happiest thoughts and prayers! Dal and Suzanne, Melissa and Michael are next up in May! Then....JUNE!!!!!

This is whats going on with Little Boy Roo...Week 27 (half way through!)
Your Baby This Week
Your baby weighs more than 2 lbs (1000g), measures 9.6 inches from crown to rump (24cm) and its total length is about 15.3 inches (34cm). If your baby were born now, he would have about an 85% chance of surviving. Nonetheless, your baby still needs another 13 weeks of in utero development to be considered full term.
Your baby's eyes, no longer fused shut, are now open.
Your baby's skin still has a very wrinkled appearance, but it is protected and nourished by the covering of vernix, a waxy coating that keeps the skin supple.
Your baby looks almost like a full term baby, but is still much thinner and smaller than he will be at birth.

Love to all! MWAH!

96 days left!!!

Well hello!
All is lovely in pregger land! heehee Our little angel is kicking me harder and harder every day. Sometimes I feel little kicks near my ribs...OUCH...but it still make me smile. Like Tim said, yesterday we were sitting in the waiting room and my boy moved my whole body! IT is so wild to know I have this little person growing inside me. LOVE IT!

Cand

Happy Birthday to Uncle Jordo!!! (my brother :) )

Hey Baby!

We were sitting in the radiologist' office yesterday waiting for my ct scan and the baby flipped around so hard it moved Can's whole body. He seems like he is gonna be a tough little guy. He was punching and kicking yesterday and you could just sit and watch it all happening. Very cool.

Well time to go find something to eat...

If you take the L out of Lally....You'll still be Lally to meeee....

Yeppers, today is St. Patty's Day! This is one of Can's all time FAVORITE holidays! Next year we'll have to definitely go out and celebrate with green beer, but this year we might play it low key and maybe just go out for a bite to eat or something. Haven't really decided yet.

Can has been doing a little better with food (sort of) although I feel bad cause she tosses and turns in bed and has trouble sleeping and is up every hour. Poor thing.

Ok, so lets jump ahead 3 months and have this baby born so we can actually hold it and have it stop pressing on Can's insides!!! hee hee...

I can't wait! We listened to the heartbeat again last night and the little one kicked and kicked and you could hear it on the doppler. Thats a cool experience!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Happy Anniversary to US!

Yup...it is our Anniversary TODAY! This will be the last year as 'just us' and we have more love entering our lives in 101 days! We have had so many beautiful chapters in out lives and it is lovely to think it will only get better from here. Mwah! I Love you DADDY TIMMY!

I am 25 weeks and 4 days today! A week and a half left (10 days) until my third trimester!
Here is whats going on this week!

Your Baby Week 26
Your baby weighs just under 2 pounds (850g) and could possibly survive if delivered now. Your baby measures approximately 9.2 inches (23cm) from crown to rump.
He is growing fast and gaining weight now. His skin is less transparent and is becoming opaque as fat builds up.
Your baby's heart is beating 120 to 160 beats per minute, as you have already heard at several doctor or midwife visits.
Until now, your baby's eyes have been sealed shut, but he reopens them this week. The eyes are almost fully formed and the retinas contain all the layers they will have when your baby is born. Your baby's eyes are blue right now, no matter the ethnic origin or eye-color of you and your partner since eyes do not acquire their final color until months after birth.
Your baby is lean right now, but is getting fatter all the time as fat is being deposited. Your baby's skin is getting thicker and paler and is becoming less red and wrinkled as more fat is deposited.
Your baby has eyebrows, eyelashes and fingernails, though all are short and need to grow more.

sittin' in the basement...

Rockin' out with the pups and kitties. Candace is starting to feel better and better nausea wise, but she is getting more and more uncomfortable baby wise. I can't imagine what it would be like to carry a baby around in my tummy for 9 months. Wow. If I could take an ounce of the pain and put it on me, I would. She looks so beautiful. She glows.

We are going to see the Crue tomorrow night. It should be pretty rockin'. I need to find some earplugs....ha ha... The baby will rock out, I'm sure!

I've been recording some new riffs and stuff and I'm working on a song for the baby to put as background music for the DVD that we are getting at the 3D ultrasound. But for some reason my laptop ticks every 5 seconds and it comes thru on the recording....ugghhh...
