Starting our week 20!!!

Almost halfway there! In one week we get to see our little person! Pregnancy, while not easy, is starting to be fun FUN. I know when Roo sleeps, I know when Roo is moving around. I feel kicks now. It is sooo cool! We are really lucky, blessed to have our own little angel.

My little sister signed our guestbook. She is precious. Check it out.

Our Roo this week...

"Your baby weighs about 9 ounces (260g) and measures about 5.6 to 6.4 inches (14 to 16cm) from crown to rump.
Her skin is thickening and developing multiple layers- the epidermis and the dermis, or deeper layer, where it will form fat. Your baby is now also developing a waxy protective coating for her skin called vernix caseosa. The vernix protects your baby's skin which is continuously submersed in amniotic fluid. Vernix, which is particularly thick around the eyebrows is held in place by tiny downy hairs called lanugo.
Your baby can now grip with her fists. Toenails and scalp hair are growing.
At this point, it may be possible to determine the baby's sex by ultrasound, if the baby cooperates, but the ultrasound technician will rarely guarantee the sex based on the ultrasound results as mistakes are often made at an early ultrasound.
You can hear the baby's heartbeat with a Doppler ultrasound device or a stethoscope."

Well well well...

seems we have a little soccer player on our hands. Candace felt the baby kicking yesterday for the first time. It was so cool. She was all like "GET OVER HERE AND FEEL THIS!" but unfortunately I couldn't feel it. It must be a strange feeling to have someone growing inside of you and so awesome to know that you are bringing this life into the world. I can't imagine and honestly it still hasn't sunk in yet, but our lives are changing drastically. ...for the better.

I can't wait to have a little one calling me daddy and depending on me to do stuff for them. It's a great feeling, but still scary at the same time.

We are scheduling a 3D ultrasound probably in March and have our regular ultrasound in February. I'll post pics once we get everything back. I'll even put some of the DVD up of the 3D ultrasound....

Can is feeling a little better. She can actually go into the kitchen and cook stuff without getting sick. And let me tell you, she's been cooking up some AWESOME dinners BOOOY!

Gotta go gotta go...

18 wks 3 days - 1st real kicks!!!!

I felt the first REAL kicks today. There was no mistaking it. Roo kicked me 3 times right under my belly button. I have had the flutters for a couple weeks, but this was some kicking!!! It was AMAZING! I can't explain what it feels like to have a real life growing inside of me. What an amazing miracle!

18 weeks and 2 days...

Well, we are in week 19 and little Roo and I are doing well. I am able to cook again and I have a little more energy than before. Back to my pre-natal yoga! heehee The baby has been moving around a lot more. It feels so awesome, I wish Tim could feel it. It feels so real now. Last night we listened to the heartbeat and Roo was sleeping. Then I had some pinapple and I few hours later I felt more movement...It was amazing, so Tim brought the doppler back over for me cause I can't believe that the baby is really moving around, and sure enough we caught the lil one around my belly button. Aw.... I can't wait! 152 days to go!

Little Roo this week...
"Your baby measures about 5.2 to 6 inches (13-15cm) from crown to rump and weighs about 7 ounces (200g).
The buds for the permanent teeth are forming behind those that have already developed for the first teeth.
Your baby's nervous system and brain development continue at a spectacular pace. By this week, your baby's motor neurons, which connect muscle to the brain, have grown into place so that your baby can consciously direct her movements. Millions of neurons inside your baby's brain are growing and forming connections and the nerves in her body are being covered in a fatty substance called myelin.
Your baby's ears are now placed on the sides of her head and her limbs are now in proportion. Your baby's tiny foot is just one inch long, but is in perfect proportion to the rest of her leg.
Your baby can hear your voice and recognize it."
How cool is that?!?!?!

The Minnesota...

twins...

I see what Candace sees in the sonogram, but I don't think it's another baby. Although you never know. Guess we'll find out for sure in 3 weeks. Can starts her 18th week today! WOOT WOOT! HOLLA!!! She is so adorable! She talks to the baby all the time and we are gonna get some classical music on her ipod to play for the baby if I can ever figure that thing out. I tried last night with no luck and much frustration. Ugghhh.. Whoever said ipods are easy to use was joking.

I still need to update the website and get it working properly... Soon, very soon. I promise! Along with some video that maybe I'll throw up there of our current little ones, the animals....

T OUT!

17 weeks TODAY!

I don't think its twins...Gosh, I am not crazy...I just see another face on the sonogram. You know sometimes when you look at the clouds you can make out pictures too. I think the face is a guardian angel. You never know though. I think I would be a heck of a lot bigger if there were twins. I think I would be completely SHOCKED if the sonogram showed 2 little ones...Don't think I could handle it. One will be hard enough. Sonogram is in 3 weeks.

I have completed 17 weeks...I am entering the 18th! WhooHoo!

Your Baby This Week (Week 18)
Your baby weighs about 5.25 ounces (150g) and now measures 5 to 5.6 inches (12.5 to 14cm) from crown to rump. He is practicing breathing by gulping amniotic fluid into its lungs. This helps the lung's development so they will function at birth. Your baby may also be sucking his thumb.
Meconium is present in your baby's bowels. There is hair present on your baby's scalp and sweat glands are developing.
Your baby is becoming more sensitive to the outside world and is moving around, kicking and punching. As there is still plenty of space in your uterus, your baby can move around a lot, sitting cross-legged, reclining or even turning somersaults!
He can probably hear by now as the ossicles (the bones that pass sound to the inner ear) have hardened and the portion of the brain that receives signals from the brain is under development. Your baby is getting used to the sound of your heartbeat and blood passing through the umbilical cord, but may be startled by loud noises. Your baby is aware of some things in the outside world, including sounds and light. If you let the sun shine on your belly, your baby may be able to perceive a warm red glow.

Tuesday, Tuesday...

We saw the dr. last night. The baby's heartbeat is 160bpm. The dr. found the heartbeat immediately. It was so cool. It wasn't like last time where the baby ran away and the dr. had to hunt for it. Nope. This time he put the want on her stomach and immediately we heard the little heart beating. It still hasn't sunk in yet that I'm gonna be a father though. Cand thinks its a girl. I still think its a boy. She also thinks we are having twins! It would be convenient, cause then we could be done with having baby's and raise the 2 we have. Not likely though. At least I don't think so.

We are renting a baby doppler for the next 5 months so we can hear the heartbeat any time we want. Although you are only supposed to do it once a week. Its exciting though! I'm gonna be a DAD!!!

ROCKET!

Sunday Sunday....

we had a pretty decent weekend even though it rained a lot. Today was pretty cool, we went to a dinner party for Can's cousin who just graduated from college with honors. Pat came over and worked on the stairs of the new deck, and I just sat down to watch Desperate Housewives with Can that we taped on DVR. Man I LOVE our DVR! It is SO convenient. If you don't have one, I recomend them highly and I guarantee once you have one you won't be able to live without it. It's also great to have the new DVD recorder that we got for Christmas, now we can dump all the DVR recordings down to DVD. We can also dump video from our new camcorder that can's parents got us, onto DVD. AWESOME!

Ok, I know you came here to hear about baby stuff. Well, the DVD recorder, camcorder and DVR is actually gonna be used for baby stuff!!! We'll be able to dump video of the baby down to DVD to give to the family and Can has also taped a bunch of baby shows on the DVR that we are gonna dump to DVD. Stuff like "Pregnancy for Dummies" and the such.

Soooo....Can is feeling a little better I think. Although she still has her moments, the dr. gave her new medication and it seems to be helping a lot. It also seems to help when she eats often. I ordered a baby doppler on the internet today to rent for the next 5 months. That way we'll be able to hear the baby's heartbeat any time we feel like it! How cool is THAT!?!?!?!!

Ok, well I'm starting to not understand what's going on, on Desperate Housewives, so I gotta roll.....

Peace and baby slippers!!!!1

New outlook...

OK...so I am still sick...Dr. is trying a new medicine for me to help me digest food. I would take 3 bites and feel full up to my neck, then get real sick. NOT fun! I hit this very "feel sorry for Candace" phase...just emotional, teary, weary...in a state of dispair. So anyway, Megan sent me this Erma Bombeck poem and one part of it said this... "Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle." I thought...WOW...what am I doing...this is WONDERFUL, I am blessed and so lucky to have this gift, this child, our child. It hit home. Then I got home and read this, "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone" Whew, don't think I have many tears left...So I remain more positive. It is a challenge, but a blessing. I am stronger and more loved already. I am two hearts, two souls, and I am ready for what each new day brings me. Love to all!

Mwah!
